"Internationally Leading" and "Internationally Advanced"! Three TGOOD Power Transmission and Distribution Switchgear Products Pass National-Level New Product Technology Appraisal
Apr 29, 2026On April 26, the national-level new product technology appraisal for Qingdao TGOOD Electric Co., Ltd. was held in Qingdao. The meeting was organized by the China Machinery Industry Federation, and the appraisal committee consisted of 17 authoritative experts from State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, China Electric Power Research Institute, Northwest Electric Power Design Institute, and the former Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. TGOOD's President Li Guangzhi and Vice President Ji Guanghui attended the meeting.



The appraisal committee reviewed the submitted materials, listened to the project outcome presentations, and conducted in-depth inquiries into the core technical indicators. After thorough Q&A and deliberation, the committee concluded that the two products—"ZF-72.5(Z)/T1250-31.5 SF6-Free Gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear and TAP17-40-40 Air-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear"—achieve a comprehensive performance at the internationally leading level, while the product ZF-252(L)/T4000-50 Gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear reaches a comprehensive performance at the internationally advanced level. The committee approved them to pass the national-level new product technology appraisal.
Prior to the meeting, the appraisal committee conducted a visit to TGOOD's Qingdao West Coast production base, inspecting the R&D and testing areas as well as the clean production workshops of each product business unit. On-site, they verified the manufacturing processes, technical specifications, and quality control systems, while simultaneously conducting sampling tests and verifying the performance of key technical indicators. The committee conducted a comprehensive assessment of the technological maturity, operational reliability, quality, stability, and market application prospects of the three new products. Based on this evaluation, the experts unanimously concluded that the three new products feature well-established and mature manufacturing processes, robust quality control systems, stable and reliable performance, and advanced production equipment. They are fully prepared for large-scale production and industrialisation, with complete conditions for technological implementation, providing a solid foundation for promotion and broad application potential.

All three new products appraised in this session represent major core equipment in the field of power transmission and distribution switchgear. Their multiple core technologies have been successfully applied in projects, ensuring safe power delivery and reliable operation of substations. This achievement marks another significant breakthrough for TGOOD in the transmission and distribution switchgear sector and highlights TGOOD's deep technical expertise and forward-looking strategy as a provider of key equipment for the new power system network hubs and an energy operator.

1. Expanding into International Markets: A "Benchmark" for Overseas Deployment

The TAP17-40-40 Air-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear is a medium-voltage distribution solution specifically designed by TGOOD for overseas markets. The product integrates vacuum arc-extinguishing and air-insulation technologies, with a rated current of 4000 A and a short-circuit breaking capacity of 40 kA. It complies with IEC standards and supports operation at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz. The entire product series has obtained national and international authoritative certifications.
With its successful deployment, the TAP17 series has pioneered the breakthrough of domestically manufactured high-end AIS switchgear in this niche market, filling the domestic gap for 17.5 kV High-current air-insulated mental-enclosed switchgear and effectively challenging the technical monopoly of imported brands. The product features excellent insulation, low partial discharge, high structural strength, strong arc-resistance, ample temperature rise margin, and long service life.
To date, the TAP17 series has been successfully applied in overseas projects in South Africa, Kazakhstan, Ghana, and the Dominican Republic, setting a benchmark for the international deployment of Chinese high-end switchgear and further strengthening TGOOD's overall competitiveness in the switchgear market.
2. Targeting Offshore Wind Power: A "Green Breakthrough" with SF6 Gas-Insulated Switchgear

The ZF-72.5(Z)/T1250-31.5 Switchgear represents TGOOD's innovative green solution for offshore wind, photovoltaic power, and other new energy scenarios. Its most significant innovation lies in replacing the traditional high greenhouse gas SF₆ with clean air for gas insulation, achieving low-carbon and environmentally friendly operation from the source.
During the appraisal, experts focused on evaluating technical innovations, including the linear arrangement of the vacuum arc-extinguishing chamber and the compact modular design of the disconnect and earthing switch. This product can be applied not only inside wind turbine towers but also extended to 66 kV renewable energy compact substation, playing a key role in advancing the adoption of domestically produced SF6 GIS. The ZF-252(L)/T4000-50 GIS is a new-generation compact high-voltage switchgear independently developed by TGOOD for complex scenarios such as urban grid upgrades and large-scale integration of new energy. The product features excellent seismic performance, low partial discharge, and a small footprint. Relying on a mature technological system, it adopts advanced arc-extinguishing and insulation technologies, with precision manufacturing of key components and strict control of core processes.
During the appraisal, the experts focused on critical product elements, including the self-operated double-motion arc-extinguishing chamber, sealed structure, and insulation design. Designed and manufactured in strict accordance with industry standards, the product has passed full-type testing and factory-specific inspections, demonstrating excellent insulation, sealing, and mechanical properties, as well as stable operation. It offers high operational reliability and strong environmental adaptability, fully meeting the safety and operational requirements of 220 kV grids. This equipment provides high-performance, domestically manufactured support for urban grid upgrades and large-scale new energy integration, ensuring long-term safe and stable operation of the power system.
